To get access to the Grid you need to fulfill a few preliminary registration steps:

• Get a valid Grid user certificate certificate from any of the two German Certification Authorities, GridKa-CA or DFN-Verein PCA.
• Load your personal certificate into your browser as explained here.
• Visit D-Grid's User Portal page http://www.d-grid.de/index.php?id=246 and select the VO which best fits you (use dgtest for testing purposes, or your community's VO otherwise). After you complete the membership request step, your registration will wait for the VO administrator to approve it.
• Eventually you need to transfer your own certificate to the correspondent user interface in order to work with the middleware.
